by Dorothy Spector in 2011, Rockin' for the Cure has evolved into a
dynamic Non Profit Charity targeting relief for cancer victims and other
worthy causes around the world. Rockin’ for the Cure is a 501(C)3
approved Public Charity pursuant to the Internal Revenue Code of the
United States Government.
Proceeds from this years' walk-a-thon scheduled in April will provide economic assistance for the construction of the new Cancer Research and Treatment Center being built as part of Baptist Hospital's Main Campus in Miami Florida. Baptist is one of the only hospital's in the area that treats children with cancer, regardless
of their ability to pay for the treatment. Baptist Health South plans to break ground on the new Cancer Research Center this July and it is scheduled to open in 2016. The event “Walkin for the Cure”
will help raise badly needed funds so that we can assist the
Baptist Health Foundation in building this new Cancer Research and Treatment Center which will result in saving lives.
The Walk-a-thon Event will take place on April 6, 2014 at Tropical Park in Miami
up now to get involved. All students participating in the event will
receive community service hours as well as a “Rockin' for the Cure”
documenting their individual commitment to finding a cure for Cancer.
This “Certificate of Service” can be used for school credit and can also
be included in your college applications.
